About MOGSTAT
mogstat is a gaming website for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (mmorpg) genre. The site has been around in various forms for a number
of years predominantly as a guild website for the many guilds in many mmorpg's for an ever growing group of "grownup" gamers.
Over the coming months we will be releasing some of our valuable tools and game information to the mmorpg gaming community so, please add mogstat to your favourites.
We all have jobs and mouths to feed and mogstat development has to take second place but we are committed to providing something different to the "run of the mill"
advert heavy "black" gaming website.
We will have adverts (We're not stupid) and cunningly in an eyetracking friendly "F" pattern, after
all mmorpg gamers are renowned for their intelligence and resourcefulness. (especially the necro's)
In particular we are developing a high quality mmorpg review system.
The problem
How do you know if a mmorpg is any good or not? and how do you find out if it is right for you?
read reviews? who is writing these reviews? 12 year old kids? employees of the gaming industry? Newbies who know jack?
All too often the only way to find out is to buy the game and subscribe which can be very expensive not to mention the annoyance of feeling ripped off.
The solution
Reviewers on mogstat will be re-badged as "mmo Reporters" they will have their own detailed profile page, not personal details but details of:
- mmorpg gaming experience (games played for how long etc.)
- The machine they play on (uber spec) (high spec) (medium spec)
- Their approximate age perhaps a photo or character photo sig or something
- Play style Guild Group solo etc.
- Perhaps a review quality rating (TBA)
- list of reviews they've done
- Fanclub forum??
The plan
We hope to in some way make mogstat mmo reporters "web celebs" and obviously we hope that visitors will find the reviews more useful as they can put the review in perspective because they know a little about the reporter who wrote it.
We can't afford to pay reporters but we can at least show respect and appreciation for their time and effort.
